Director of Machine Learning & Computer Vision

Genies is looking for an experienced and creative technologist to join us as the Director of Engineering for our growing AI, ML and Computer Graphics team.  Reporting to the CEO, this Director of Engineering will drive the growth and development of our R&D division, extend the functionality of our UGC tools, and oversee the integration of Machine Learning & Computer Vision into our product experience. You’ll play an integral role in determining which systems, tools and technologies Genies will invest in, and help the leadership team strategize on where the introduction of emerging technologies will advance the product suite and user experience. What You’ll be Doing:

• Strategize the research and development of user facing tools for avatar ecosystems
• Work with leadership and product to develop a company-wide technical vision and strategy
• Evaluate emerging technology and recommend innovative solutions
• Combine technical and business decision making skills in charting the technical vision.
• Integrate novel ML/CV technologies into creative tools and products
• Build a team of ML and graphics engineers and mentor their development
• Develop technical equity and a library of IP to leverage across applications

What You Should Have:

• MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years experience designing and integrating new technologies into tools and products
• 5+ years building and managing large teams of engineers and technical artists
• Deep knowledge of ML, specifically neural network modeling and data aggregation and grooming
• Expert understanding of high end computer graphics, real time engines and mobile hardware.
• Highly organized with a strong ability to take initiative and work collaboratively
• Past experience building 0 to 1 products or technologies
• Experience building teams from the ground up - you’re a talent magnet with a broad technical network
• Huge Plus: Authored patents, publications, industry presentations

The actual base pay is dependent upon a number of factors, including: professional background, training, transferable skills, work experience, education, location, business and product needs, and market demand. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time employees may also be eligible for equity compensation, in addition to a robust health, wellness, and benefits package. 

Starting Salary Range: $250,000.00 to $325,000.00 USD
