Genies is looking for a Vice President of People & Culture to join and support our growing team, leading the people function. The VP of People will be based in LA at Genies HQ and will be responsible for the entire HR department, including performance management, culture and engagement, leadership and organizational development, coaching, total rewards, HR business partnership, employee relations, HR technology, and more. You’ll drive development of the function and set its strategic priorities. You will partner with all the key leaders across the entire business to ensure we deliver a superior experience for our employees, including nurturing and developing the unique Genies culture.

What You’ll be Doing:

  • Lead the human resources function, including the overall talent strategy for the company, leadership and organizational development, succession planning, rewards and recognition, performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, culture, HRIS and more
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on key talent, organizational and management issues
  • Drive all culture efforts consistent with the company virtues, and ensure Genies culture continues to thrive
  • Evolving the human resources function and ensuring that it remains on the leading edge of talent practices and programs to attract and retain talent
  • Should be an exceptional talent magnet for the company, working closely with talent acquisition
  • Ensure operational excellence for the function and establish the right processes, programs, and methods to scale the people function with the business
  • Drive all people initiatives across the employee life cycle, including performance reviews, promotion cycles, compensation reviews 

What You Should Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree (US or equivalent), MBA or MA/MS in related field preferred
  • 12+ years prior work experience in an HR role, with at least 7 years of HR leadership experience
  • A comprehensive understanding and experience leading multiple HR disciplines, including HR business partners, employee relations, compensation and benefits, immigration and relocation, talent and organizational development, etc.
  • Experience driving talent programs for high growth technology firms (online consumer tech preferred), entertainment companies or similar industries
  • History of building high performance cultures, leadership teams and organizations
  • High integrity, professionalism, and ability to work well under pressure and ambiguous environments
  • Exceptional communicator and driver of change
  • Curious, with an intense appetite to learn and a passion for organizations and culture
  • Proven ability to get results through operating with influence
  • Meticulous, solutions oriented and creative thinker
  • History of building and mentoring strong people teams
  • Solutions oriented thinker, pushing to drive innovation in the HR function
  • Interest in and focus on company culture


  • SPHR or GPHR certification
  • Global work experience
  • Executive coaching certification
