Dapper Collectives is looking for a detail-oriented, technology-savvy and Program Manager to execute our plan to build and evolve DAO tooling and media DAOs.

The ideal candidate has a knack for details and can synthesize a lot of information and moving parts into a single cohesive program. They possess a genuine curiosity about decentralized communities, analyze and distill complex problems down to the essentials, and maintain laser-focus on steering teams to achieve their mission while also seeking out and capitalizing on opportunities for continuous improvement.

We are on a journey to create a completely new way of telling stories, opening an ecosystem of community-powered technologies for creating stories and building worlds. The Director of Program Management is responsible for leading and managing a team who tackle complex projects across creative, technical, design and product development and production.

This role will report to the COO of Dapper Collectives and will work in very close collaboration with our Chief Product Officer, as well as other department leads, to ensure communication, organization and execution is seamless and delivery is on-time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set an example as a leader with a management style that encourages participation and ownership by all, along with a continuous focus on execution, audience/user satisfaction and employee satisfaction.
  • Own and drive accountability across the organization’s initiatives
  • Own the development of the cross-functional, company roadmap that is mapped against business goals and acts as a living source of truth across all teams.
  • Providing visibility into current projects, resource utilization, team performance and health across teams and projects.
  • Leading project managers, producers and team leads to set realistic milestones and escalate changes as necessary.
  • Help teams to leverage project management best practices (documents, meetings, etc) to find processes that help them to better align, collaborate and execute.
  • Actively identify and remove impediments that may impact team velocity or deliverables. Partner with other organizational leaders to remove impediments and balance risks.
  • People Management:
  • Manage a team of project managers to translate roadmap initiatives into quarterly goals and projects, including tracking status of key initiatives across departments and make this information visible to all within project tracker and Brud roadmap.
  • Build and develop a world-class program management team capable of navigating and delivering complex cross-functional teams, pipelines and deliverables.
  • Process Development:
  • Manage operating rhythm, including communication structures, workflow, project templates, timelines, feedback loops and leadership approvals.
  • Relentless Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for continual optimization - collaborating across team members to integrate feedback.
  • Lead project managers to identify process improvement using agile and lean values, principles, and techniques.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Engineering, Design + Innovation, Data Science, Business Development, Legal and Content to implement scalable, complex processes.
  • Work with the Community Lead and Product Manager to rethink existing pipelines and develop new ones to help progressively decentralize Brud via Discord.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration and Communication:
  • Drive cross-team collaboration by providing accurate and proactive tracking of teams and major projects.
  • Strive to nurture healthy and productive working relationships across the organization and bring to bear those relationships to move cross-functional projects forward. Set an example for initiative and a rigorous pace.
  • Work across the org to drive progress on all key initiatives. Ensure that trade-off and prioritization decisions are made explicit and communicated to the wider team, understanding and communicating how different projects interlink and overlap, striking the right balance between quality and speed.
  • Team members should be very clear on their marching orders after a single conversation with you.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Strengths:
  • Top-tier leadership skills to supervise and oversee multiple reports across multiple teams within a large organization.
  • 5-10 years of program/project management experience and training
  • Extensive experience in managing and mobilizing cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work through ambiguity to detailed solutions.
  • You can take a vague problem, crisply frame the challenge, identify a path forward, and drive an initiative over the finish-line.
  • The ability to remain organized in a fast-paced environment with many competing priorities. You should be comfortable with having to pivot quickly when necessary.
  • Focus on outcomes vs output, ability to help lead teams to define trade-offs on scope, priority and resources and communicate those up, down and all around.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and proven ability to adapt well and work with teams having different operating cadences.
  • Detail-oriented and able to understand the bigger picture by using your technical expertise and problem solving abilities to prioritize and manage blocking issues.
  • Strong writing and communication skills

What Success Looks Like:
  • The company-wide, living roadmap is reflective of major milestones and business objectives and becomes a real source of truth for all team members. This roadmap correlates/breaks down to team and project level road maps and timelines and then you create processes/ceremonies to help teams keep them true and up-to-date.
  • Brud project management processes and pipelines ensure timelines, features, and products are delivered in a timely manner and support healthy team communication, collaboration, escalation and growth. And you are proactively seeking opportunities to build capability and identify where development and focus can drive improved business outcomes and can become more streamlined and less complicated.
  • You are someone at the company that people turn to for problem solving help, answers to larger company questions and feedback. You help team members feel motivated and empowered and leadership to remain in the know.
